i have 8 but i only really use 3 ranger, monk and paragon.

the rest i play when i'm bored. or when the nf chests have refilled.

I have 10 toons, one for each class (bought only 1 extra slot)

Ranger & Mesmer - most active characters.

Warrior, Dervish, Assassin - active, but less so (but they've done all 3 campaigns and EotN)

Necro, Ele, Monk - inactive since heroes came along. Now used for storage of mods, inscriptions, and "for sale" items.

Paragon - played until lvl17, then became storage.

Ritualist - storage (lvl2)

1 of each class plus an extra ele and ranger (ele was admittedly just to get 15k Sunspear armor, and the second ranger was to play with my husband through Prophecies)

I really only play a handful regularly though. Sometimes I wish I just had a few, but I really like all of them. Meh.

I have nine characters and even though I don't have time to play them all on a regular basis, I'll never delete them.

My three favorites get played almost daily - Elementalist, Necromancer, and Ranger. My Mesmer, Paragon, and Ritualist are for when I need a break from the favorites. I play my Assassin infrequently because he managed to get on the survivor track. I use my Dervish and Warrior mostly for storage.

Once in awhile I'll make a 10th character in Prophecies to re-visit Ascalon before it got seared or to help someone out with some quests and stuff. That one usually isn't a keeper though.

Most of them have had very long breaks in play, for various reasons.

No, I don't play all of them. I try to concentrate on my main necro, but probably play anywhere from 5-10 different toons in a week.

playable: monk (perma pre), warrior, ele, mesmer, necro (all serve double-duty as mules sometimes, I shuffle stuff around to play the ones I want)

mules: assassin, ele, warrior, dervish, ranger
playable: necro (main), ele (going for LDoA), warrior (perma pre- with LDoA), paragon (new, going for LS), monk, ritualist

mules: monk, ele (both in pre-)
playable: necro (only character in post-)
+ empty slot (actually, it's a warrior right now, but only exists to be deleted later after transferring items from pre-searing to post-searing)

I have 12, all PvE. Two paragons, two eles, and one of the other classes.

I play them as I feel like it, but the dervish is my main.

1 main- ranger Protector of Tyria and beat all 3 campaigns + GW:EN
1 secondary- necro hasn't completed any campaigns yet, close to finishing factions though
1 tertiary- warrior(hardly ever play) fully leveled/attribute point quests, but far from completing any campaign.
3 other pve characters I started, but got bored quickly. a lvl3 sin, lvl 7 ele, lvl 10 monk.
Both the ele and monk are 2nd tries at the profession, might try the ele again.
1 pvp and an empty slot.
I won't ever delete the half played ones as they are still good for birthday presents.
But what sucks is the 2 2nd year bday presents were both thorn wolves

Six pve characters now but I must have deleted 3 or 4 along the way and I keep 2 slots open for my pvp characters.

My main character, Shayne, is working towards the God title, but only has 11 titles maxed so far.

My alternate, Xylias, is a show-off character that I use in the festival arenas.

My Dervish gets no action.

My Warrior is a mule. Same with my Ele.

My Mesmer is doomed to level 15 in pre-Searing, because I'm too busy and un-caring to finish the title.

My Paragon is naked, but he might turn into a mule.

My last character slot is for PvP, which I hardly do anyway.

Shayne and Xylias still get plenty of play time. The PvP slot gets some action at some times, and everything else is only accessed when I want to store something.

I have 12, one of them has 27 maxed titles and over 12 million xp, the rest just became storage slots and are rarely used for anything but that.
